Early English books online (EEBO)

From the first book published in English through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare, this collection contains full digital copies of over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's short title catalogue (1475-1640) and Wing's short title catalogue (1641-1700) and their revised editions, as well as the Thomason tracts (1640-1661) collection and the Early English books tract supplement.

Special features

• Browsing - the Browse page allows you to search through an alphabetical list of the authors and their works in EEBO
• Searching - a basic and advanced search facility is provided. You can search using a variety of fields including; author, title, subject, illustration type, date and language
• Downloading full text - by clicking on the Full Text icon in the Search Results page,  you will be able to view the document in Keyed ASCII Full Text.
• Document images - The Document Images section of EEBO allows you to access the scanned page images of the original work.

Please note that you must obtain permission for reproduction of images from both ProQuest Information and Learning and the owner of the material.

Individual titles can be found on the Library catalogue, StarPlus.  Alternatively, access is available directly from this page by connecting to the EEBO web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary.
