London lives, 1690-1800
London lives is a fully searchable edition of 240,000 pages (40 million words) of handwritten documents from criminal justice & local government, bringing to life 18th century London's non-elite inhabitants. Created by the team behind Old Bailey proceedings, the project is a collaboration between the Universities of Hertfordshire and Sheffield and is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). It is published by HRI Online, the electronic publishing arm of the University of Sheffield's Humanities Research Institute (HRI).

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the London lives web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary.
