Literature online (LION)

Connect to LION

Chadwyck-Healey's Literature online or LION gives access to a very large searchable full text literary database, which incorporates more than 343,000 works of English, American, African-American and Canadian poetry from the 8th century to the present day, more than 5,000 works of English and American drama from 1280 to 1915, and more than 2,000 works of English and American prose from 1500-1914.

Literature online also provides access to more than 880,000 bibliographical records of articles, monographs and dissertations through the Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature from 1920 onwards. Also available are more than 190 full text literature journals, 845 Poets on Screen filmed readings, several leading literary reference works and dictionaries, links to more than 5,100 literary web sites, and biographies for 3,700 of the most widely studied literary authors.

Access

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the LION web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary. To access the Library's eResources collection whether on or off campus, simply log into MUSE & connect via the Library eResources links, located on the Library tab. Alternatively, access via the eResources A to Z links on the Library Web pages & login to MUSE when prompted.
