Oxford music online (including Grove music online)

Electronic version of the 29 volume printed second edition of the New Grove dictionary of music & musicians, providing extensive coverage of classical music, jazz, world, rock, popular and light music. Updated quarterly and containing over 5000 photographs, diagrams, drawings and maps, over 20,000 biographies and over 50,000 articles. The 3 volume New Grove dictionary of jazz and the 4 volume New Grove dictionary of opera have also recently been integrated into the New Grove dictionary of music & musicians, providing online access to the entire contents of the second edition.

In March 2008, Grove music online was relaunched as part of Oxford music online, a new gateway for online music resources which also includes the Oxford dictionary of music and the Oxford companion to music.

Access

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the Oxford music online web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary. To access the Library's eResources collection whether on or off campus, simply log into MUSE & connect via the Library eResources links, located on the Library tab. Alternatively, access via the eResources A to Z links on the Library Web pages & login to MUSE when prompted.
