Google Earth: free version
From Maui and Paris to local restaurants and schools, Google Earth brings a planet's worth of Earth imagery and other geographic information to your desktop. The Google Earth client (free version) is free to download for personal use. No registration is required.
Downloading Google Earth (Windows 2000/XP)
- Connect to Google Earth from the Quick links box
- Click the Download Google Earth button on the top right hand side of the page (ensure you have checked the radio button underneath for the relevant operating system)
- The Google Earth download should start automatically. Save the GoogleEarth.exe to your PC
- Double click the GoogleEarth.exe to begin the installation process. Google Earth InstallShield Wizard will open. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the installation
The Google Earth client requires certain system configurations in order to run smoothly. Please check the Minimum System Configuration requirements on the following web page before download:

Access
This service is available to Internet users including registered students and staff of the University of Sheffield regardless of location. The download page for the client can be accessed directly from this page by connecting to the Google Earth web site.
