GeoConvert
GeoConvert is an online geography matching and conversion tool for UK academics. It allows registered users to obtain and manipulate complex geographical and postcode data in a straightforward way. In order to gain access to GeoConvert, both registration with the Census Registration Service and the acceptance of Special conditions is required.
Registration for use locally or remotely
- Login to MUSE & connect to the Library database listings via the Library eResources links (located on the Library tab)
- Select GeoConvert from the A to Z list. A new page will display. On the GeoConvert page, click the Connect to GeoConvert link in the Quick links box
- If you have not already registered with the Census Registration Service, you will be directed to the Census registration service (CRS) registration page
- Follow the on screen instructions which include the following three steps 1) Provide personal information 2) Review & accept the end user licence 3) Review special conditions applying to use of certain datasets
- An email will then be sent to the address you specified during the registration process. When you receive this email visit the web page it indicates. This will complete your registration. The link will remain valid for 28 days
Access
This service is available from the GeoConvert web site. No further username and password details are required if you are accessing via MUSE and have followed the registration procedure above.
