In the First Person

In the First Person is a free, professionally published, in-depth index of more than 3,350 collections of personal narratives in English from around the world. The index covers both free and commercial subscription sites, allowing comprehensive searches across proprietary companion collections as well as free collections. Users can perform in-depth field and keyword searches across letters, diaries, oral histories, memoirs, and autobiographies within Alexander Street Press databases. In the First Person is updated on a quarterly schedule.

Access

Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the In the First Person web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary. To access the Library's eResources collection whether on or off campus, simply log into MUSE & connect via the Library eResources links, located on the Library tab. Alternatively, access via the eResources A to Z links on the Library Web pages & login to MUSE when prompted.
