EThOS
EThOS offers a single point of access to all theses produced by participating UK Higher Education institutions. The EThOS digitisation suite at the British Library in Boston Spa, Yorkshire, harvests e-theses from Institutional Repositories and digitises paper theses. Many theses are freely available for immediate download, but in some cases there may be a charge for the digitisation of the original document.
You do not have to register with EThOS to search the database. If you want to download a thesis, or order digitisation of a thesis, you will need to register and log in. To register:
- Connect to EThOS via the Quick links opposite
- Click 'Login / Register'
- On the EThOS Login and Registration page, click 'New customer? Register'
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Complete the registration form with your details and choose a password
- Click 'Register'
Please note: All users downloading theses from EThOS must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Use of EThOS, which specify only non-commercial, personal use.
JISC Digital Islam
A collection of over 900 PhD theses in the area of Islamic studies has been made available for immediate download by JISC and the British Library. The theses, which represent the work of 97 separate educational institutions, cover fields such as Islamic law, history, politics, finance, anthropology, sociology, gender studies, and Muslim communities in the UK. Search EThOS for 'JISC Digital Islam' to browse the full collection.
Access
Access is available directly from this page by connecting to the EThOS web site - you'll be prompted to login to MUSE as necessary. To access the Library's eResources collection whether on or off campus, simply log into MUSE & connect via the Library eResources links, located on the Library tab. Alternatively, access via the eResources A to Z links on the Library Web pages & login to MUSE when prompted.
