Learning and Teaching Annual Reflection
The purpose of the Annual Reflection
The Annual Reflection exercise is intended to provide assurance for Faculties and the University that academic departments are reflecting on the efficacy of their teaching. The principal objectives are to provide Faculties with evidence of good practice to be shared more widely for the enhancement of student experiences, and to identify issues where departments might benefit from advice or assistance, or where considerations need to be given to particular support.
The process is overseen by the Faculty which considers departmental reflections, noting successes and good practice as well as areas requiring improvement. This provides a mechanism for the Faculty to support departments in the review and monitoring of their taught provision and to contribute towards the setting of Faculty priorities within the context of Faculty/University learning and teaching strategies.
An Annual Reflection template and guidance is available to download from the box on the right. Also available for download are details of the Annual Reflection process, including the relevant submission deadline, within each Faculty. In addition, a series of generic prompt questions are provided to inform the process of reflection, if necessary.
Departments are encouraged to adopt an evidence-based approach to the process of reflection. Key performance Indicator data can be found on uReports, within the `UReport Catalogue´. Information on how to access KPI data is available to download from the box on the right.
Should you have any questions about the Annual Reflection process within your Faculty, please contact the relevant LeTS Faculty Contact.
