Main Role/Responsibilities

I am the first point of contact for research activities in the department.

I help academic staff to identify research funding opportunities, develop research ideas into funding applications and then administer the resulting awards.

I work closely with the Directors of Research to plan and implement the School’s research strategy, provide administrative assistance for the preparation of our REF return and help promote the research carried out in the School. I also provide administrative support and guidance to the School’s research clusters, alongside the Research Support Officers.

I support our cohort of research students, with one of the School's Research Support Officers, and in close liaison with the Directors of Postgraduate Research. I co-ordinate research student admissions, provide information and guidance on scholarship applications, and provide day-to-day management and support to the School’s PhD students.

I am a member of the School's Research Committee and Higher Degrees Committee, and I manage the School’s two Research Support Officers.
