Research and Knowledge Transfer

The Department of Landscape is a major research centre for landscape and environmental planning and design.

International Recognition

The international standing of the Department was recognised in the profile awarded in the 2008 UK Government Research Assessment Exercise. This showed 75% of our work as being `internationally outstanding or excellent´, and the remaining 25% being `internationally recognised´.

Knowledge Transfer

The Department has strong links with the Landscape industry and government agencies. Many of our students work for a year in practice during the course of their studies. The Department also conducts research and consultancy for a range of clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors.
