Our undergraduate courses are unique in combining a broad training in landscape architecture with specialist modules in ecology and planning.

Landscape Architecture undergraduate work
On

We offer a choice of courses for students interested in Landscape Architecture:

  • MLA Landscape Architecture - a five year integrated masters with a choice of specialist modules in landscape ecology or landscape planning. You'll be eligible to apply for undergraduate funding and access University services and student rebates during all five years of this course.
  • BA Landscape Architecture - a three year undergraduate degree with specialist modules in landscape planning. This can be followed by an independent year-in-practice and a postgraduate Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture. You will write a dissertation in your postgraduate year.
  • BSc Landscape Architecture - a three year undergraduate degree with specialist modules in landscape ecology. This can be followed by an independent year-in-practice and a postgraduate Masters in Professional Landscape Architecture. You will write a dissertation in your postgraduate year.

All three courses are accredited by the Landscape Institute. Completion enables students to apply for licentiate membership of the Landscape Institute and start their Pathway to Chartership.

We also offer, in partnership with the School of Architecture, the only fully accredited dual degree in Architecture and Landscape in the UK.

Foundation year

We also offer a degrees in Landscape Architecture with a Foundation Year BA and MLA, in partnership with the Department for Lifelong Learning, specially designed for mature learners who have been out of formal education for an extended period of time.

Study abroad

Landscape students can only go abroad for one semester; the first semester of the third or fifth year.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
