2. Log-in to a landscape department computer
Jobs can be sent from the 2 department computer suites located on the 11th and 12th floors of the Arts Tower.
3. Open the file.
Setting up a file to send to the plotters differs depending on which application you are using. Please use the guides below on how to plot large format prints from the most popular applications used in the landscape department. If you are plotting from an application that is not listed below, or if you would like someone to check that you have set up your print correctly, please see Paul Buck in room 11.8 on floor 11. You will be charged for any wrongly printed sheets so please ask if you are unsure.
Whatever application you choose to print from, always use the Print Preview option.

4. Decide on which plotter you will need to use. It is very important that you choose the right plotter, this depends on the amount of ink you will use for your print. Follow guide below:
Choose SHEFUNI/line-plot for printing A2, A1 or A0 wireline files or files that only have a small amount of ink. The example below is the maximum amount of ink allowed through SHEFUNI/line-plot. If you send plots with more ink than this you will be charged at the counter. If you are unsure, please ask Paul Buck in room 11.8.

Choose lsc-colour-plot for anything else that is A2, A1 or A0 in size
If you would like to print anything larger than A0 in length please submit the file to Paul Buck on a memory stick or CD. Larger than A0 sheets are payable by cash and prices depend on amount of ink and length of sheet.
5. Use the correct plotter release station (line-plot or colour-plot) to swipe your Ucard, select your print job and press print to credit your account and send the file to the plotter.
Plotter release stations are located in the landscape computer room on the 11th floor or in the Landscape/Architecture print room on floor 15. There are 3 Colour-Plot release stations and 2 Line-Plot release stations. Before you swipe your card at a printer release station, check the queue of each plotter by looking at the monitor above each release station then select the one with the least jobs in the queue.
Checking the progress of plots You can check the progress of your plot in the queue from screens located above the plot release stations. Please make sure your plots are sent with plenty of time before hand-in deadlines. Sending at the last minute will most likely cause a late submission for which you will lose marks. Submission times will be posted on the computer and print room doors. Even when the plotters are not busy please do not send print later on in the afternoon and expect to collect the same day as you are bound to be disappointed.
6. Collect your print
Plots may be collected from the Landscape/Architecture print room which is located floor 15 of the Arts Tower between 8.00 a.m. and 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 4.00p.m.
