Leaders Award Events

Leaders AwardThe Kroto Research Institute aims to host a series of events to support the 'Leaders Award' provided by Primary Engineer in association with The University of Sheffield Outreach team.

There will be themed events throughout the year that take place on a Wednesday afternoon  to provide young learners with the opportunity to interview a panel of three academics. The session will be filmed and the video will be made available so that the experience can be shared with other schools and colleges.

This will help participants to gain their Leaders Award Certificate through Primary Engineer.

The last event was on 24 February 2012 Event and focused on 'Women in Science and Engineering'.There were four female academics taking part in the interview panel and the video will be available shortly.

Details of the academics on the previous panel can be found using this link 2 November 2011 Event and the recording from the event  'wobby bridges, inkjets and microbubbles' can now be viewed on our website www.geokri.org

This is a wonderful opportunity for young learners to find out about the research and practical applications for different subject areas in addition to the varied career paths available.
