Paul Potts

Paul Potts career spans being a cub reporter (Sheffield Star) to PA Group Executive Chairman.

He is a news journalist of extensive experience and more significantly a news editor and manager of considerable distinction.

He is responsible for the expansion and success of PA (The Press Association) introducing far-reaching and percipient measures when appointed editor in chief 1995 and as CEO and editor in chief 2000-2008. Paul established the PA as the UK´s leading multimedia news service and supplier of business-to-business media services and, PA was transformed from being a domestic news agency only, to being a supplier of news information with operations across the globe.

From 2008 – 2010 Paul was Chief Executive of the PA Group and pioneered the success of both the European MeteoGroup (a weather service) and CNW (Canada Newswire).

He has served on numerous official committees and journalism advisory boards and was awarded a CBE for his contribution to journalism.

Paul is currently the Visiting Professor of Journalism, Department of Journalism Studies, the University of Sheffield.
