We aim to offer a highly focused syllabus combining the practical and theoretical aspects of contemporary journalism within an international context.
The course includes a grounding in specific vocational skills needed to enter the industry and relates them, where appropriate, to the wider cultural, historical and critical context.
Many of our teaching staff have significant experience within the industry and the practical courses have been designed to ensure their relevance and topicality in a time of rapid change.
Our BA course has accreditation from the industry´s principal training organisations, the NCTJ, the PTC and the BJTC.
BA Journalism Studies with a modern language
We are now offering a group of new dual degrees combining journalism with French, Germanic Studies, Hispanic Studies or Russian.
These programmes are the result of a successful bid to the Higher Education Funding Council for additional student numbers, and they will be run jointly by the Department of Journalism Studies and the School of Modern Languages and Linguistics.
For further details of the journalism component of the courses, contact Cecilia Harvey.
