Rhoda wins Press Gazette Award

Rhoda Buchanan from Sheffield’s current MA in Broadcast Journalism course has been named Interviewer of the Year in the prestigious UK Press Gazette Student Journalism Awards.

Rhoda has written regular features for Guardian Weekly and the day before hearing she had won her award she had a double page spread in the Guardian’s G2 section, on Barack Obama’s official photographer.

Sheffield journalism students were shortlisted in three other categories: Feature Writer (Holly Thompson); Radio Journalist (Kirsty Ann Hogarth); and Team of the Year (all those taking part in the department’s multi-platform election project).
