Jameel took part in the University’s inaugural Postgraduate Research Student Conference on advanced skills training, organised by the Graduate Research Office in June. |

There were five different competitions at the conference, and five students made presentation on each category. Jameel won the category on Presentation in Academia. Each winner received £200 prize and a certificate. |

The theme of the presentations was Presenting Your Research to a Prospective Employer. |

The event was attended by 140 research students across all disciplines within the University. |

Earlier this year Jameel was successful in getting his very first research paper accepted into the prestigious conference of the International Communication Association. |

The conference, held in San Francisco in May this year, welcomed researchers from a range of media and communication disciplines to share their work and stimulate debate in the field. |

The presentation, which is based upon Jameel’s PhD, is entitled: "Press Coverage of Political Corruption in Nigeria: A Framework for Intra-national Comparative Research". |
