Andrew wins top TV prize

A Sheffield University broadcast journalism graduate has won a prestigious national television prize.

Andrew Wilson, who completed his postgraduate journalism course last year, was awarded the Broadcast Journalism Training Council prize, sponsored by the BBC College of Journalism, for the Best Long form TV Report at a ceremony at ITV’s London headquarters.

Handing over a cheque for £500, ITV’s presenter of the Meridian East current affairs programme, Sangeeta Bhabra, praised the quality of Andrew’s report on student abuse of dyslexia grants.

Andrew is now working as a radio reporter on Dearne FM.
