After graduating with a BLib degree from the College of Librarianship in the University of Wales in 1971, I worked at the University of Hull, for Philip Larkin, and then at the British Library Lending Division at Boston Spa. I moved to the University of Sheffield Library, as a government specialist and cataloguer and then as a Liaison Librarian in 1977.

Teaching

I have specialised in all types of government information since 1976 and started to teach it in the Information School as a guest lecturer in 1980. I developed a specialist e-Government module in 2002 and was seconded to the School from 2008.  I have also taught students about databases and search engines for over 20 years.

Research Interests

My research interests are based on e-Government information and official statistics but I am also working on information finding skills and in search engines in particular.

Key Publications
