Today is my last day of my mini-holidays until the end of July. Tomorrow I start my first day of my 3rd year and I am quite nervous about it! Looking at our timetable I can see that in the next 3 weeks we learn how to examine the whole body. In just 3 weeks!
Having finished exams just 2 weeks ago and now having to start a whole new year is daunting. Not just because a new year has started but because this is where the course really changes. For the last 2 years we have been learning mainly theory regarding the body, from now on it will be applying that theory in a clinical manner.
In about a months time I will be starting rotations; 9 weeks in Doncaster, 9 weeks in Sheffield and then an exam!
I think this time will be a real test of not only me but everyone in my year as this is what will show us if we are truly capable of being good doctors in the future.
