US honour for writer

A writer and academic completing a PhD in African American Literature at The University of Sheffield will have his poetry read at a ceremony in America on Thursday.

Kaleem Ashraf is studying in the Department of English Literature, Language & Linguistics exploring the fictional representations of black speech in a range of African American writers.

On Thursday Julia Wright, daughter of the great African-American literary legend Richard Wright, will read his poetry at the national unveiling by the US Postal Service of the Richard Wright Stamp.
