Sheffield Students´ Union named best in the UK
The University of Sheffield´s Union of Student´s has been named `The Best Students´ Union in the UK,´ by trade magazine, Club Mirror. The award was presented to representatives from the Union of Students at an awards ceremony at the Palace Hotel in Manchester, last week.
This is the second time the Union at Sheffield has won this award, previously winning in 2004. Sheffield was among four finalists shortlisted for the `Best Students´ Union in the UK´ category.
Mark Willoughby, President of the Union of Students at the University of Sheffield, said: "We are really pleased to have won this award again this year. The award has developed now to recognise the wide range of services and activities the Union is involved in, and it is always pleasing to receive some external recognition for our achievements."
The Union of Students at the University of Sheffield is located on Western Bank, Sheffield. It offers a wide range of services to staff and students including, bars, clubs, cafe, shops and employment services.
