Congratulations to all those who passed their exams!
Now we can all enjoy a nice relaxing winter break with absolutely nothing to do until January. This kind of luxury is rare so I am going to make the most of it while it lasts. I am currently back in Dubai and the weather is absolutely gorgeous! Last time I came here in the summer it was 43⁰C, but now it is a pleasant 25⁰C and nice and cool in the evenings.
I am still getting used to the lifestyle and culture here and I still get shocked every now and then. One thing I do like is that a lot of people are Indian or speak & understand Hindi so communicating is not a problem.
Though the main thing I do find difficult is getting around. As I currently don’t have a driving license I am not able to drive here which seems to be the only real independent means of travel. A metro service has just started up in Dubai, however, only a few stations are in use at the moment. There are bus services, but imagine even walking 5-10 minutes in the roaring summer heat to the bus stop. In the meantime I am exploring bits and bobs of Dubai slowly and surely, though my main objective is to relax and eat lots of good food.
