The University of Sheffield
Prospective International Students

12 October 2009

Sonal's Web Diary

It has been 3 weeks now since the Freshers of 2009 arrived and don’t I feel old! I see all these much younger looking faces going out and have a good time and all I can think is I have to be in at 9am tomorrow. How priorities have changed.

Fresher’s week traditionally consists of a week of integrating parties and events for new students as well as some introductory information about the individuals’ course. As most new students live in residential halls, many of which have become communities, these activities are a good way for people to meet one another and form friendships.

The first international event of the year organised by the International Officer and the International Students Committee was on Saturday night. This was my 4th Intro Fiesta. Like previous years, it's an evening of live music, games, stalls & later an international after party. This night brings back many fond memories of meeting and going out with people who are still my good friends today.

I hope everyone had a good time and that all the new and returning students are having a good time settling into Sheffield University life.
