The International Office Ambassador Team
Every year the International Office recruits and trains a team of International Office Ambassadors. These are current international students that work with us to provide help and support to our international offer holders. Activities carried out by our ambassadors typically include:
• Participation in a telephone calling campaign to talk to international students with an offer to study at Sheffield in the next academic year
• Writing a regular blog about experiences as an international student at Sheffield
• Participation in social networking sites and online chats with potential new international students
• Contribution to reviews and comments to education websites
• Delivery of campus tours to international visitors to campus, normally potential new students and their families
We believe that offering the opportunity to talk to a current international student is of real value to our prospective students as it allows them to chat to somebody who really understands what they are going through.
This scheme also holds great benefit for our ambassadors themselves. Not only does it provide great hands on work experience that can add to their CV, it can also count towards their HEAR report. For more information about the HEAR programme please click on the link below:
We also organize regular social events for our ambassadors which are great opportunities to mix with people from all over the world.
