Living costs
Sheffield is one of the cheapest places in the UK to live and study. According to a survey of 26 university towns and cities (Natwest Student Living Index 2008), living costs for Sheffield students are the third lowest in the country.
Much depends on the lifestyle you wish to have but the information below will give you an idea of the budget you'll need for your time in Sheffield for 2012-2013:
- £7,200 - Undergraduate students (nine months in Sheffield from September to June)
- £9,600 - Postgraduate students (twelve months in Sheffield from September to August)
The above budget will cover costs for accommodation, food, books, equipment, insurance and local travel costs.
Students with dependents will need to budget for additional costs. Please visit the International Student Services website for information on bringing your family to Sheffield.
