Sri Lankan Student Society

The Sri Lankan Society is aimed at promoting all things Sri Lankan whether it is music, food, sport, film or culture.

The Sri Lankan Society is one of the most active national societies that we have at the University of Sheffield and its members meet regularly. Each year the Sri Lankan society gets involved in many of the events organised by the Students' Union such as the International Cultural Evening and sports competitions. In the 2009 edition of the World Food Festival the Sri Lankan society won the runner-up prize.

At the start of each academic year the Sri Lankan Society organises a welcome event for all new Sri Lankan students allowing new arrivals the chance to acquaint themselves with the activities organised by the society and tap into a vast network of support.
