Entry requirements for students from Sri Lanka

We have been welcoming students from Sri Lanka for many years and our staff are very familiar with the Sri Lankan education system and qualifications.

High entrance requirements for our degree programmes at Sheffield reflect the quality of the University.

All applicants are required to have an internationally recognised English language qualification such as IELTS or TOEFL. The minimum score that is accepted for entry is IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80. Some departments may require a higher score.

IGCSE/GCSE English Grade C or Sri Lanka GCE O Level English Credit or above are also accepted in place of IELTS or TOEFL.

For ANC-NCUK International Foundation Year graduates the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) module of these programmes is accepted in place of IELTS or TOEFL.
