The University is pleased to offer a range of scholarships to students from Kenya who show exceptional academic potential and are starting their studies at the University of Sheffield in September 2012.

Kenya Merit Undergraduate Scholarship 2012 (£6,500)
There is one Kenya Merit Undergraduate Scholarship, available for Kenyan students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2012.
The scholarship is worth £6,500 of your undergraduate course tuition fee per year.
To be eligible for the Kenya Merit Undergraduate Scholarship 2012 (£6,500), applicants must be a Kenyan national or permanently domiciled in Kenya, apply for a study place by Friday 20 April 2012 and hold an offer of a study place for entry in September 2012.
The Kenya Merit Undergraduate Scholarship 2012 (£6,500) is awarded on the basis of academic merit.
If you wish to be considered for this scholarship you need to apply. Eligible students will automatically be sent details of how to apply from January 2012 onwards.
Applicants cannot apply for the scholarship before being offered a study place at Sheffield.
The deadline for applications is Friday 27 April 2012; scholarship results will be announced Friday 1 June 2012.
Postgraduate Scholarships eg MA, MSc
The University offers a range of scholarships for Kenyan students who show exceptional academic potential starting a postgraduate Taught Masters programme at the University of Sheffield in September 2012.
Kenya Sheffield Scholarships 2012
We are pleased to offer the Kenya Sheffield Scholarship 2012 to all Kenyan students starting a Taught Masters programme in September 2012.
The scholarships are:
- £1,000 each for students studying Nanotechnology courses (jointly run with the University of Leeds)
- £1,500 each for students paying fees between £12,160 - £13,990
- £2,000 each for students paying fees of £13,991 and upwards
Eligibility and Award Criteria:
- You must hold an offer of a study place and begin your postgraduate Taught Masters programme in September 2012.
- You must be a Kenyan national or permanently domiciled in Kenya.
- You must be self-funding and classified as overseas for fee purposes.
- The scholarships will be awarded automatically - no application is required.
- The scholarships will take the form of a tuition fee reduction.
Postgraduate research degrees eg PhD, MPhil
The University of Sheffield does not offer research studentships or funding specifically for Kenyan students. There are, however, studentships and funding for which all international students can apply.
