How do I...

...print?

Click Print on a PC and select a print queue. Then go to the relevant printer and swipe your UCard to release your print job. We have all 3 types of printer in the IC. Printing is double-sided by default. If you need to print single-sided, you need to change the print properties before you click print.

...photocopy?

There are photocopiers in the Business Units on Levels 1 -4. You will need to swipe your UCard to operate them. The cost is deducted from your printing and copying account, which you can top-up online or in machines in the Business Units.

...scan?

There are 5 scanners near the Information Desk on Level 1, one of which will scan A3 documents. They are all bookable through MUSE, but if they say "Available" on the screen, you can also just log in. Instructions are next to them, but if you need help, ask at the Level 1 Information Desk.

...top-up my printing and copying credit?

There are machines on Levels 1-5. They take coins and notes, but do not give change. You can also top-up online through MUSE.

...get unused printing credit back?

You can only get a refund at the Computing Centre - not from the IC. Refunds can only be given at the end of your course, and only from your "users" purse.

...book a group study room?

There are 14 group study rooms. To book one, follow the link in the myQuickLinks section of MUSE.

...book video equipment

You can book the equipment such as digital video cameras, tripods, firewire cables through the myRooms and Resources link in MUSE.

Creative Media Equipment

...use the Creative Media Room

We have a creative media room, a comfortable and well-equipped space for creating and producing digital media, on Level 1. You can book it through the myRooms and Resources quick link in MUSE. The creative media staff offer training and support (one-to-one and in groups) in how to create multimedia work such as videos, podcasts and screencasts.

...use the CopyCams and huddleboards?

Huddle boards are lightweight whiteboards that can be used by groups to record discussions, plan activities and map out knowledge. Huddleboards can then be placed underneath the CopyCam which will take a digital picture of the information. When the huddle board image is captured by the CopyCam it is stored at a web address.

...change the Flexispace to suit me?

All of the chairs, tables and screens in the Flexispace are on wheels and can be moved around to suit you. There are wheel-brakes on the tables so you can stop them moving once you've decided where to put them. Please remember to release the brakes before moving the tables.
