Accessibility
The Information Commons is fully accessible and parking is available for customers with mobility difficulties.
There are a number of facilities within the IC which may be of interest to students with additional support requirements:
- Large screen monitors and large print keyboards on every floor.
- A text magnifier on Level 1.
- Software that can covert learning materials into different formats such as large print, DAISY and mp3 - see Dolphin Easy Converter link.
- Mindmapping or brainstorming software (Inspiration and MindGenius) is available on all PCs as part of the Managed Desktop Service.
- Bookable scanners on Level 1.
- Low level photocopier on Level 1.
- Induction Loop at the Information Desks on Levels 0 and 1 as well as portable induction loops available to borrow for use within the building.
- Self-propelling wheelchair available for use within the IC.
- Height-adjustable desks located around the building.
- Accessible toilets on every floor.
- Low level card readers at entrance to IC.
- Refuge points on every level.
- Low level counters on Levels 0 and 1.
- Automatic doors at the main entrance.
