About Us
The Academic Unit of Respiratory Medicine is a highly cohesive grouping that combines internationally competitive interdisciplinary research in innate immunity with clinical research in respiratory disease.
Major research areas include:
- the regulation of apoptosis
- functions of toll-like receptors in myeloid biology
- subversion of innate immune defences by pathogens
- innate immune functions of the pulmonary epithelium
- mechanisms of airway inflammation and asthma
