Teaching and research connected with the Inclusive Education and Equality Research (IEER) Cluster has developed into three distinct though inclusive areas of research activity.
(1) Inclusion and Equality
This area connects all members of the cluster and engages us in broad activities associated with social justice, inequality, marginalisation and inclusive education.
Members include: Michele Moore, Dan Goodley, Ken Marks, Paul Doyle, Irene Kappes, Anastasia Hadjiyiannakou, Harvey Cowe, Maria Atkins, Samia Amaniana, Mike Pomerantz

(2) University Research Centre of Applied Disability Studies

The IEER cluster has a long history of involvement with disability research. This expertise was formally recognised by the University in October 2005 with funding being given to the development of an inter-disciplinary research Centre of Applied Disability Studies.
Members include: Dan Goodley (director), Michele Moore, Kathryn Runswick Cole, Tsitsi Chataika, Andrew Dick, Katy Wright, plus colleagues from across University.

(3) Educational Psychology

The reputation of the Degree of Doctor Of Educational Psychology offered by the School of Education has been enhanced by the research activities of our Educational Psychologists who have tackled a whole host of issues such as the marginalisation of children, bullying and the development of critical educational psychology.
Members include: Tiny Arora, Tom Billington, Kathryn Pomerantz, Mike Pomerantz, large community of Educational Psychology doctoral students
