Access Grid Node

The Board Room at ICOSS is a designated Access Grid Node (AGN) equipped with the high-end audio and visual technology needed to support group-to-group interactions across the Access Grid.

The Access Grid brings together a number of resources including multimedia large-format displays, presentation and interactive environments, and interfaces to the White Rose Grid and visualization environments.

The AGN can be used for large-scale distributed meetings, collaborative work sessions, seminars, lectures, tutorials, and training, connecting remote locations in a mutual space and offering the capability to visualize multiple media simultaneously (e.g. a powerpoint presentation and other software)

Through interface with the high computing power of the White Rose Grid, the node can also used be as a research environment for the manipulation and visualisation of large amounts of distributed data and for the study of issues relating to collaborative work in distributed environments.
