The purpose-built centre offers a spacious modern work environment with excellent IT and telecommunications facilities.

The construction of the building has been carefully designed to enhance internal communication through the use of glass, light and space.

Flexible workspace

The layout of the workstations within ICOSS has been designed for maximum flexibility.

Computers, flatscreen monitors and telephones are accommodated in a series of free-standing screens and trolley units which can be repositioned to allow users to design their own work-space to suit their personal requirements.

Energy efficient

Issues of energy use and sustainability are fundamental to the architectural concept. The design of the structure has been developed to allow natural cross-ventilation throughout the building and eliminates the requirement for energy-inefficient air-conditioning.

The south-facing atrium allows heat from the sun to build creating a thermal stack which drives air circulation within the building. The fully-glazed south façade has a series of automated roller blinds which enable solar power to be moderated for different weather conditions and internal patterns of use.
