Who is it for?

This unit is suitable for health care practitioners working in environments that provide care for patients having sustained trauma to the muscle-skeletal system.

  • X-ray interpretation
  • Fractures and bone healing

What is it about?

This unit is about the different types of injury that can be sustained to the neuro-musculo-skeletal system and the patho-physiology that may be associated with these. It also examines the different forms of assessment and resuscitation that may be required in the emergency care environment.

How does it enhance practice?

This unit enhances practice by educating the practitioner of physical and psycho-social consequences of trauma and providing them with the necessary knowledge to make the required assessments and deliver safe and effective care.
