Planning for Retirement

Pre Requisite:
Participants need to be clear that this session will not cover their financial issues

Brief Outline:
Whether staff are in the early stages of contemplating retirement, or have already determined when they wish to retire, they will probably be preparing for a major period of transition in their work and life. This workshop will cover the major changes that can take place at retirement and how people can plan for and manage these life changes to make a smooth transition to, as well as the most out of, the next stage of their lives.

Purpose:
This workshop will focus on providing participants with an understanding of the change process with regard to retirement and practical steps to ensure the transition to retirement goes smoothly.

Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, participants will have:

• Identified the major elements of the Change Process
• Identified both rational and emotional barriers to change
• Explored key life areas and how these may be affected by retirement
• Created a clear Personal Action Plan to make the most of retirement
