Pay Plus

Pay Plus is a new branding of a number of staff benefits at the University of Sheffield.
Pay Plus is the University's name for our 'salary sacrifice' schemes. Pay Plus follows HM Revenue and Customs guidelines for such schemes and enables staff to make National Insurance and, in some cases, Income Tax savings on a variety of benefits. Pay Plus also enables the University to make National Insurance savings.
The Pay Plus schemes currently offered are Pay Plus for bikes, Pay Plus for childcare, Pay Plus for leave and Pay Plus for pensions.
Pay Plus for bikes enables staff to loan a bike (and accessories) suitable for commuting to work, worth up to £1,000 free from tax and National Insurance.
Pay Plus for childcare enables parents to claim up to £243 of childcare vouchers each month, free from tax and National Insurance.
Pay Plus for leave enables staff to receive up to 10 days additional leave.
Pay Plus for pensions applies to pension contributions for staff in the Universities Superannuation Scheme and the University of Sheffield Pension Scheme.
