A one-day conference featuring papers on the family through British history, with a keynote paper from Professor Pat Thane
This conference will examine historical perspectives on the family in Britain, from individual roles and identities within the family to the wider significance of the family to the nation. The family is a crucial institution to individuals and to nations and societies as a whole, and is central to the work of many historians and social scientists. This conference aims to bring together those interested in the political, social, cultural, economic or legal dimensions of the history of the family.
