Library and Archives
The University Library contains over 1.4 million books, periodicals, microforms, DVDs and other items as well as over 9000 electronic journals, electronic books and subject databases. The Special Collections and Archives Department holds some 150 collections of both Special Collections (printed books, periodicals and pamphlets) and Archives (manuscripts, ephemera and mainly unpublished primary materials). The Local Studies Service and the Sheffield Archives Service also have rich collections of materials.
There is a regular free bus service to the British Library at Boston Spa which gives you access to 8.5 million books and serials.
