You can be seen as an Immediately Necessary patient if the GP decides you condition is medically necessary.
You will need to produce your European Health Insurance Card (E128)
You are not entitled to be seen for treatment of pre-existing conditions or something that the GP thinks will wait until you return home. |
If your country has a reciprocal agreement with the UK, you can be seen for emergency or immediately necessary treatment (something that cannot wait until you return home).
You will need to produce your passport as proof of entitlement. |
If you do not fall into either of these two groups, you are not entitled to free treatment and will need to see a Private GP.
Medical emergencies are treated FREE of charge by a General Practitioner, at an Accident & Emergency Department or a Walk-in Centre |
