Research Interests

My interests are based on examining the social institutions that communities and individuals constantly adhere to, rebuffed and rebel against when negotiating everyday life. In addition I am interested in the writings of Bourdieu and de Certeau.

Research Project

This research project seeks to explore the rules and boundaries that are gesticulated through food in everyday life. This investigation looks people in families and there eating rituals, aiming to give a sense of the framework that encapsulates communities and individuals eating habits. The research is using diary interviews, observation and soundscape data.

This project is part of the 'Changing Families, Changing Food' programme sponsored by The Leverhulme Trust
