Materialities of organic wine

I am interested in the role of materials in the economic/social networks of organic wine production in Italy. I explore the role of organic and inorganic material agencies such as yeast and SO2 in those networks, their vitality and the challenges they pose to economic markets and to the ethics of organic winemaking and consumption. The ethnographic methodology of this research involved a year-long fieldwork with organic wine producers in Northern and Central Italy.
