Other Environmental Sensing
In addition to volcanoes I am also interested in a number of other remote sensing areas. I have developed lasers for monitoring the response of the atmosphere to pollution and have been involved in projects concerning plumes from power generation and other industrial activities. At present I am contributing to the development of a novel goniometric device for bidirectional reflectance distribution function measurements, and studies which seek to better understand the environmental impacts of aviation and biomass burning.
