Case study

Kymbat Ospanova - BSc Environmental Science

Kymbat"I always was interested in conserving biology and nature so Environmental Science seemed the perfect option. It is also quite broad and therefore great for a wide range of career options.

Sheffield is very friendly and amongst the greenest and safest cities in the UK. It is not too big to be overpowering yet large enough to have loads going on so there is a balance of everything. The city has a range of places to go such as parks, gardens and restaurants with different cuisines

I think the course structure is very good because it has core modules from two departments and also four pathways that you can choose on level two. There is a big range of modules that can be selected so you can choose a module that you are very interested in. The course is very interesting and broad, and the modules are enjoyable.

I want to raise public awareness about current and future environmental issues and to educate people to be more environmentally friendly from childhood onwards. The knowledge and experience that my course and university have invested in me will be key in the future."
