Funding a Masters course

Departmental Bursaries

Each Masters course has one bursary attached which covers all or part of the student's fees. All students who have been offered a place on one of our courses are eligible for these bursaries. There is no additional bursary application form; the allocation of this funding will be based on the strength of admission application. Bursaries for September 2013 entry will be allocated in June 2013.

Alumni Funding

The Alumni Fund offer a number of scholarships to University of Sheffield graduates continuing their studies with a Masters degree. Applicants who are eligible to apply for the Alumni Fund will be contacted with details of the application process in due course.

The Aga Khan Foundation
At present, applications are accepted from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Madagascar, France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada.

Chevening
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. Applications are open to students from a variety of countries- please see the Chevening website for details.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are available for students who are a national of developing Commonwealth country. Further information can be found at the Commonwealth Scholarships website.
