Undergraduate Open Days
There are two kinds of Open Day: general Open Days, when prospective students can come and look around the University before applying, and subject-specific Open Days (via SOMLAL) for applicants who have already received an offer of a place.
SOMLAL Open Days
Applicants who receive a firm or conditional offer are automatically invited to one of our Open Days. Offer holders will receive an invitation by e-mail to attend the open day for the particular subject combination. In that e-mail, we will give instructions and a Personal ID, so that each candidate can book their place in the open day for the degree programme they have applied for.
Open Days give you the opportunity to come and see what the department is like, find out more about course content, the teaching and the facilities we have to offer. They also gives you a taste of Sheffield and the University.
Booking your place
Open Days for students who have been offered a place on one of our degree programmes are organised at School level, so that applicants who are planning to take French with another language can visit both the departments on the same day.
If you have received an offer from SOMLAL and would like to come to an open day, please follow the link on the right hand side of the page to book your place. You will need your Personal ID code provided by the University.

Further information
Our Open Days usually start at about 1pm and finish around 4.30pm. Letters of invitation, including further information about venue and times, are posted out after you have received an offer through UCAS.
