• Understand how Tax Codes work in uBASE
• Understand the financial impact of selecting different Tax Codes on departmental expenditure and project accounts
• Understand how claims for VAT relief work (eg Medical goods or Advertising)
• Provides practical advice and examples on areas of difficulty
• Develop a basic working VAT knowledge to allow Purchase Orderers to carry out their role confidently and accurately
• Provide a comfortable forum to ask VAT/ system questions
• To raise awareness of the guidance available to assist Purchase Orderers
• To ensure the University employs 'reasonable care' in managing its tax affairs, as required by HMRC

• Start time: Morning session:10.00am, Afternoon session: 2.30pm
• End time: Morning session:11.45pm, Afternoon session: 4.15pm

• Refreshments: drinking water provided but not hot drinks
