Budget holders or Departmental Administrators requiring to monitor cost centre (core departmental accounts) budgets

1. You must have some basic navigational skills on uBASE which should be provided by your departmental colleagues or line manager. uSpace for Basics in Navigation also provides general guidance documentation on using uBASE and understanding how to navigate around the system

Project reporting (for monitoring project accounts with income and related expenditure - eg conferences, short courses, consultancy)

Research grant reporting (for monitoring research grant accounts) 

Assuming prior knowledge of uBASE, the course will cover:

• Understand the use of cost centres for core departmental budgets
• Understand the financial year and financial periods used at the University
• How to run the budget usage report for a cost centre or range of cost centres
• How to run the actual/commitment analysis report showing expenditure within a cost centre
• How to use the 'drill down' facility to view line items details and each individual transaction where necessary
• Understand the terminology used in uBASE for cost centre expenditure

• Course format: is either one-to-one or small groups depending on number of requests for training received
• Duration: up to 2.5 hours
• Venue: to be agreed when the course is booked
• Training materials: guidance on using uBASE reports is available on-line
